'Between HERE and Somewhere else' & 'Our Media Mosaic'

Three Left Feet's 2026 Showcase was designed as a celebration of process as much as performance, highlighting the technical and creative skills developed throughout the year in our Monday evening Adult Acting Classes in Lancaster. The evening of the 10th August featured two distinct works, each demanding different approaches to performance and storytelling.

Original Play & Media Project

“Being a part of 3LeftFeet's 2026 summer showcase was a great lesson in collaboration and self-confidence building. Acting is a lot like a team sport - it's very social, and all about supporting the rest of the group, developing technical skills, and performing in the moment. A very healthy activity!” – Sammy

“Being part of the showcase helped me develop my confidence in working with others and really helped me not just gain the skills I need as an actor, but really helped me set the stage to get the skills for any future projects. The showcase helped me through my fears of overthinking and putting myself down and I loved every second of it” – Nathan

‘Between Here and Somewhere Else’ is an original short play written by facilitator Eleanor Goode. Set all in one train journey, the piece explores everyday human experience with moments of humour, sadness, cringe, and relatability. Performers undertook extensive multi-rolling of 24(!) parts, requiring rapid character transitions, vocal versatility, physical characterisation, prop work, and ensemble awareness. The rehearsal process drew upon script analysis, objective-based acting, spatial composition, staging, timing and performance refinement.

In contrast, ‘Our Media Mosaic’ explored recorded performance through a collaborative audio format. Class members suggested many pieces of media from film, literature, songs and much more that held personal significance, and came together to record the compilation, which was then edited into a unified presentation. The project developed skills including vocal interpretation, microphone technique, pace, tone, authenticity and audience communication through sound alone.

“I joined the Three Left Feet acting group to learn how to better embody characters, to improve my voice acting for my personal animation projects. What I didn’t expect was for my participation in the showcase to be such a milestone in my growth of confidence as a performer, and a human being." - Dan

Together, the combination of live theatre with recorded media reflected weeks of rehearsals, experimentation and creative collaboration, providing participants with opportunities to strengthen their confidence, technical ability and understanding of ensemble performance in a supportive yet professionally focused environment. Our audience was so big, we had to add more chairs!
