'The Process' & 'The case of the missing Ruby'
Three Left Feet's 2025 Showcase featured two original scripts, each requiring versatility and a distinct set of theatrical skills. With one half performed live and the other recorded, actors from our Monday evening Adult Acting Classes explored multiple forms of dramatic practice (brilliantly!).

Original Play & Radio Drama
‘The Process’ is an original short play set in a dystopian near future, set over half an hour, full of deep character relationships, decision-making and human interaction. Rehearsals focused on script and setting analysis, staging and blocking, and emotion-mapping. Participants developed their understanding of dramatic tension, pacing, and performance dynamics while refining their confidence and stage presence in front of a live audience.
‘The Case of the Missing Ruby’ is an original radio drama that introduced participants to audio-based storytelling. Working within the conventions of the radio play format, performers developed skills in vocal characterisation, pace, tone and narrative clarity. The absence of visual storytelling encouraged actors to communicate setting, emotion and action through vocal performance alone. Many used accents, and two multi-roled.
“I absolutely loved the script and dystopian genre of The Process. Getting to know and inhabit the character of Imogen, this robotic dictator-ish lady running a 'social processing centre', was super fun and interesting. This is definitely a play that has stuck with me.
It was also a great opportunity to practise skills such as script work, taking on board feedback, working together as a cast, and performing to an audience. The whole experience really helped strengthen friendships with the rest of the cast, theatre has this great power to bring a group of people together.
The radio drama was a really unique experience as the whole performance relied on voice work so it used quite a different skill set. The excellent editing really brought the play to life.” – Bridget
“Taking part in The Process showcase was both terrifying and rewarding. One thing I learnt is that you can never have enough rehearsal time! Sharing an experience like that with fellow actors does bring you closer together.
The radio play was enormous fun from start to finish. If The Archers want me, I'm waiting for the call...” – Lesley
