AUDITIONs

Please read ALL of the information thoroughly before submitting your audition.

For the full information, please access our desktop version of our website.

Deadline for auditioning is 5pm on

 Saturday 7th November 2020.

To audition you must submit the online form at the bottom of this bubble. You must fill out

your contact details and include a link to a folder containing the MP3 audio files of yourself performing the

                  audition pieces.

The audition materials can be downloaded as a PDF here

Please read all the information on the audition piece document carefully

before recording and submitting your performances.

Important Upload Information:

Upload your MP3 files using any service which allows you to share a link with

us (e.g. googledrive, dropbox etc).

Please ensure you have granted permission to info@threeleftfeet.co.uk to access the folder/files.

We will not chase up links that do not work. You cannot edit the form once you have submitted it.

Please state your full name and the role that you are reading at the beginning of each recording/before you read for each character. You must also submit a short introductory audio file where you tell us your full name, why you’re interested in this project, and a fun fact about yourself. We want to get a taste for who you are! Keep this file under 1 minute long, please.

Finally, you may submit a singing audition (optional). Please choose any nursery rhyme to sing, as a few roles have short singing        moments in this style. Don't worry, we are not looking for technically perfect singers, we just wish to hear your voice. Most of the       roles are not singing roles, but we'd encourage you to submit a song anyway if you feel confident enough to do so.

            Summary of submission requirements:

               - Short introduction

                  - Up to FIVE audition monologues (see audition pieces PDF for more info)

                      - Optional singing audition

Please label your audio files in the following format:

first name. surname. category number. role.

                                       e.g. john.doe.1.narrator

We will only accept audio files, not video files. You may submit

one file containing all the recordings, or an individual file for each

one if you are unable to collate them.

We would be grateful if auditionees would also submit

an optional, anonymous Equality and Diversity

                                                                                                Monitoring Form.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR AUDITION

RECORDING YOUR AUDIO FILE

3J6A2104.jpg

You MUST be available for rehearsals (held digitally) on Thursday 19th November. Similarly, you MUST be available for in-person audio recording (adhering to current government COVID-safety guidelines) between Friday 20th and Tuesday 24th November (exact dates required TBC with each actor once cast). You will be required to travel to The Dukes Playhouse, Lancaster, for this recording.

We have an actors' travel bursary fund available to subsidise travel costs. Please be aware that if you live outside of the North West, we will be unable to subsidise your travel; it is also unadvisable to travel into the North West at this time, as it is currently a Tier 3 Zone (correct as of 31.10.2020).

We're interested in hearing from people with all levels of experience, so don't worry if you've had no prior professional credits or voice acting roles.

You MUST, however, be 18 or over by the time you submit your audition tape and have the legal right to work in the UK.

3LF welcomes applications from ALL eligible individuals, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, socio-economic and educational background, national origin, religion or physical ability.

We're looking to employ people based on enthusiasm, commitment, skill and              performance, and are particularly keen to hear from people from

backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented

                                                         in the arts.

ELIGIBILITY

HELPFUL INFORMATION

We are casting gender blind: not based on actor/character gender. This means that we'll listen to your vocal style/tone and your characterisation and decide who we think is the best fit for the role. So, please don't let a character's apparent gender stop you from reading for them!

Treat the audition as though it is in-person, despite it being pre-recorded and try to keep professional, demonstrate your enthusiasm and really sell yourself as an actor. Ensure that you can be clearly heard on the file, and don't be afraid to go for it!

Remember that we can't see you! Your emotion and acting needs to be expressed through your voice. We recommend doing a couple of takes, listening to them back and picking the best ones.

Here at Three Left Feet, we are committed to providing a safe and COVID-secure

environment. Our Health and Safety Officer is working with our partner, The Dukes, to carry out risk

assessments for the planned project. We will also:

  • Work digitally whenever possible.

  • Avoid close working.

  • Provide clean visors and other relevant PPE for in-person recording.

  • Encourage the use of face masks whenever possible.

  • Enact relevant procedures if someone falls ill.

  • Ensure hand-washing facilities are available.

  • Ensure sterilised toilet facilities are available.

  • Guarantee that all equipment is sterilised before, during and after use.

  • Guarantee that relevant spaces are thoroughly cleaned before, during and after use.

As UK COVID guidance information changes, 3LF will update our position to ensure that we are keeping to the safest operating practices and procedures possible. We will thus ensure that all work is done in accordance with guidance from The Government of the United Kingdom and Public Health England, and during this project we will adhere and adapt as guidance changes.
